What order do I watch Stargate SG-1, Atlantis and the movie?
I've been watching SG-1 from the beginning on DVD (watching the self-titled movie before all else). I just got to Season 9 (two discs in now) and references to Atlantis have started in the show. My question is, when did the Atlantis show start with respect to SG-1 episodes? Is there an Atlantis movie I should watch? Finally, trying to watch whole discs at a time, what order should I be watching SG-1, Atlantis and the other movies in?
I think you would watch the original Stargate movie, then seasons 1-7 of Stargate SG-1 before starting Stargate Atlantis, but after that point, SG-1 and Atlantis ran simultaneously... so continue watching both Atlantis and the rest of SG-1.
The Ark of Truth comes after the SG-1 series, and I think that Continuum comes after that.
After you finish Atlantis, you would watch the Atlantis movie.
I'm not really sure how to line up watching seasons 8 and 9 of SG-1 with Atlantis, cause at some points there are cast changes and connections between shows. Sorry I can't be of more help.
